Youth Workers are doing all they can to stay in touch with local young people during the pandemic. Detached Youth Work is taking place where it is safe to do so and summer activity programmes are currently running.
Leeds City Council has made a youth promise to ensure that all young people have:
- Something to do
- Someone to talk to
- Somewhere to go to
- Something to say
The Youth Service is available for young people aged 13+. They have loads going on including sports, arts and IT clubs and have local centres and 5 Youth Hubs with excellent facilities. Where no centres are available Youth Workers work on the streets, in schools and from mobile provision, and have drop-ins where young people can talk about health, school, drugs or emotional issues.
In our area specifically the Youth Service provide the following services:
- 1:1 support for young people
- Group Work
- Regular out of school clubs
- Detached Youth Work within the community
